What is sitkit?
sitkit is an app for pet sitters in the UK. It keeps your bookings, your diary of visits and your customers in one place, and lets your customers check their booking and pay for it online.
Who is it for?
Pet sitters who look after animals in their owners' homes, whether that's drop-in visits or dog walks. It works for any animal: cats and dogs, but also rabbits, birds, chickens, ducks or anything else. It suits one-person businesses and small to medium sized teams.
Do my customers need to download anything?
No. You send them a link by text, WhatsApp or email, and it opens in their phone's browser. They see their dates, every visit and the total, and pay from the same page. You can open a sample booking to see it for yourself.
How do my customers pay me?
By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, straight from their booking page. Payments are handled by Stripe and paid out to your bank account, and when a customer pays, their booking confirms itself. There's a small fee on each payment, and most sitters find it's well worth it for the time and chasing it saves. If you'd rather take payments your own way, outside sitkit, you can, with no extra fees.
What if a booking changes after they've paid?
Change the dates or visits as normal, and sitkit works out the difference. If there's more to pay, your customer sees the extra amount on their booking page and pays it the same way. If they've paid too much, you can refund the difference, and it goes back to the card they paid with.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Both plans are free for 30 days, and you don't need a card to sign up. After that it's £15 or £30 a month, VAT included.
Can I add overnight stays?
Yes. Add one for each night at its own price, alongside any drop-in visits, and sitkit adds up the total.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. sitkit runs in your phone's web browser, so there's nothing to download from an app store. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app. It works on a computer too.
Can I use it with sitters who work for me?
Yes, on the Team plan, at £30 a month however many sitters you have. Give each visit to the sitter doing it, and see who's doing what each day. Invite each sitter by email and they get their own login that shows just their visits, with the notes and addresses they need. Their first sign-in is checked with a code texted to their phone.
How much does it cost?
£15 a month if it's just you, or £30 a month with a team, however many sitters you have. Both prices include VAT. Taking card payments is optional: for a standard UK card, Stripe charges 1.5% + 20p and sitkit adds 1%, so a £100 booking costs £2.70 in fees. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice.
